Prudential-ACLEDA Undergraduate Scholarship Programme launches to support Cambodian students
Phnom Penh, 5 November 2026 – Prudential Cambodia, in partnership with ACLEDA University of Business (AUB) and with the support of ACLEDA Bank Plc., today officially launched the Prudential-ACLEDA Undergraduate Scholarship Programme to help high-potential Cambodian students access higher education, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding.
As Prudential Cambodia and ACLEDA Bank Plc. build towards the 15th anniversary of their bancassurance partnership in January 2028, this scholarship programme marks another meaningful step in their longstanding collaboration.
Dr. In Chnany, President & Group Managing Director of ACLEDA Bank Plc., said: “We firmly believe that partnership and success are measured not only by the length of our collaboration, but by the positive impact we create together for customers, communities and the national economy. Supporting and investing in education is an important pillar in creating opportunities for the next generation to become capable human capital.”
Five scholarships will be awarded in 2026 to students pursuing their studies at ACLEDA University of Business (AUB). Subject to annual approval and funding availability, the programme may offer up to five additional scholarships annually in 2027 and 2028, potentially supporting 15 students across three cohorts, with total tuition funding of up to US$72,000.
Mr. Ponlu Tola, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Cambodia and Myanmar, said “Today’s launch reaffirms the strong partnership between Prudential Cambodia and ACLEDA, and our shared commitment to customers and future generations. With the support of ACLEDA University of Business, we are opening doors to quality higher education for young Cambodians. I encourage eligible students nationwide who are committed to learning to apply for this scholarship and seize the opportunity to pursue their aspirations.”
The positive impact of the partnership is reflected in the life and health protection it provides to Cambodian families. As of October 2026, Prudential Cambodia and ACLEDA Bank had together provided protection to approximately 377,000 Cambodian customers through the partnership and approved claims totalling US$28 million, providing financial support and peace of mind to customers and their families when they need it most. The scholarship programme builds on this shared commitment, extending the partnership’s impact from protecting families today to creating opportunities for the next generation.

About ACLEDA University of Business
AUB began in 1993, amidst the nascent stages of ACLEDA's journey. In this early period, a dedicated technical support team operated within ACLEDA NGO, laying the groundwork for what would become a prominent educational institution. As ACLEDA MFI emerged in 1997, the need for specialized training grew. This led to the establishment of the Training & Consultancy Service Division, followed by the creation of the Training Center in January 1998. With a clear vision for empowering its workforce, ACLEDA recognized the critical role of education in achieving success.
The year 2009 marked a significant milestone with the formation of the Training Division within ACLEDA Bank Plc. This expansion reflected a growing need for comprehensive training programs. Recognizing the potential for regional collaboration, ACLEDA broadened its vision by establishing the ACLEDA-ASEAN Regional Microfinance Training Center in June 2010. This initiative, generously supported by the Royal Government of Cambodia and co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW, aimed to empower microfinance institutions (MFIs) across the ASEAN region and beyond.
