Job Title                       : Appointed Actuary and Head - Products

Reporting To                : Chief Financial Officer

Main Responsibilities:

  • To lead the setting and execution of the Company’s product strategy such as appropriate customer research, deliberations with internal and external stakeholders, review and sign off on Actuarial pricing activities, specification and testing of system development and overall project management.
  • To perform appropriate review of reports on the Company’s financial position and to provide these to management, the Board and to the regulator, as required under local regulations.
  • Ensure that actuarial pricing results, processes and procedures are sound, accurate, documented and reasonable to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company and Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA)’ standards and actuarial principles.
  • Responsible for the setting of assumptions, modelling, profit testing and all related technical aspects. The process will include ensuring the integrity of the pricing model, meeting pricing standards and making sure that there is financial integrity within the distribution channel compensation.
  • Oversee the conceptualization and execution of the Company’s product related research.
  • Review the statutory solvency position and ensure reports to management, the Board and the regulator accurately reflect the Company’s capital adequacy.

 Requirements:

  • Must be a Fellow of one of the internationally accredited Actuarial associations such the institute of Actuaries (UK), the Society of Actuaries (US and Canada), or the institute of Actuaries of Australia.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of EEV, IFRS, Solvency II reporting principles, rules and methodologiesExperiences in the pricing of various type of life insurance products

    • To review and draft template of the contracts.

    Regulatory compliance

    • Formulate compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.

    Litigation management
