Phnom Penh, 25 January 2018 - Prudential Cambodia was recognised for its commitment in helping boost road safety in the country. On Wednesday, 24 January, Mr. David Nutman, CEO of Prudential Cambodia, received an appreciation certificate conferred by H.E. Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, Minister of Ministry of Public Work and Transports at the Annual Meeting on Road Safety chaired by Samdech Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Prudence Foundation, the regional community investment arm of Prudential Corporation Asia, and Prudential Cambodia launched the SAFE STEPS Road Safety programme in Prey Veng, Cambodia during the National Road Safety Week in April last year. Following the success of the launch, Prudential Cambodia rolled out the programme in Battambang and Siem Reap provinces, raising the awareness of road safety among residents through the distribution of educational materials in the two provinces.

“I would like to extend my congratulations and deep appreciation to all the national and international organizations, passenger and cargo carriers, the private sector and all road users who have participated in obeying the Law on Road Traffic and thank them for their support for road safety programs that have prevented a rise in traffic accidents," said Samdech Sar Kheng.

SAFE STEPS Road Safety is a pan-regional campaign developed to raise awareness of road safety across Asia. The programme was launched in partnership with The Coalition for Road Safety (CRY) and supported by relevant local road safety related organisations in Cambodia, including the National Road Safety Committee (NRSC) and the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC).

“We are proud of our long-term commitment to serving all Cambodians, and we are grateful for this recognition from the Royal Government of Cambodia for our efforts to support local communities through driving impactful and meaningful initiatives like SAFE STEPS,” said Mr. David Nutman.

Since its establishment in 2013, Prudential Cambodia has been offering its life insurance products and services across the country. The company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to not only providing the best financial services and protection for the Cambodian people, but also empowering and lending a helping hand to communities across the country through a wide range of community investment programmes, which focus on road safety, school safety, education, health and well-being.
